Speaker

Speaker

Speaker of the device used for audible transactions on the device including authentication success, authentication failed, authentication denied.

External USB

RS-485

RS-485

By connecting a slave device with an RS-485 cable, you can use BioStation 3 as a control system for multiple doors. The slave device is used as a dummy reader and authentication is performed by the master device.

If a fingerprint scanner is configured as a slave device for BioStation 3, another BioStation 3 cannot be added as a slave device. • If the fingerprint scanner is the master device, BioStation 3 cannot be added as a slave device.

If BioStation 3 is the master device and BioStation 3 is connected as a slave device, only one BioStation 3 can be added as a slave device.

Relay

Fail Secure Lock

To use the Fail Secure Lock, connect the N/O relay as shown below. While using the Fail Secure Lock, there is no

current flowing through the relay circuit, and when the relay allows the current to flow, the door will open. In case of

power outage or system power loss due to external factors, the door will lock.

TTL Input

You can connect a fire sensor, heat sensor, security sensor, door sensor, exit button, or etc. The TTL inputs pins detect the voltage flowing through the circuit to monitor device disconnection, short, on, and off conditions, and can also be used as a general TTL input. With BioStar 2, you can set the behavior according to the Supervised Input status, and you can monitor the status of each input.

Wiegand

Wiegand out allows the device to send data to external controllers on alternate access control platforms.

The Wiegand out function allows raw data to be sent through the wiegand cables, this can be customised to specific lengths and to send certain data packets.

Ethernet

The ethernet Connection allows you to either Power the device based on the model that you choose, or it can connect the device to the internet and server with the physical connection or both.

This functionality allows remote device configuration or RTSP feed. If used on a major site then the ethernet will almost certainly be required.

Wiegand In

Wiegand In allows a connection from an external device, this can be a camera for example.

This will allow Wiegand data to be passed to the device, for a camera this can pass ANPR data to the reader granting access for recognised vehicles or receiving external reader information that is required for granting card access

Power

Requiring a 2 pin power connector, this device can be with an external PSU the requirements for the power are either 24V 1AMp or 12V 2AMp of power.

This ensures that device will not be underpowered when its goes underload trying to authenticate and send data.
